LAHAT was made in account of being cost effective and compatible with as much platforms as possible, being compatible with bothdedicated launch pods, and any 120mm or 105mm cannon being used by NATO states. It is also suitable for patrol ships, possibly modified for 105–106 mm recoilless rifles, UAVs, HMMWVs, and SPAAGs. It was designed primarily to be fired by the Merkava's 105mm and 120mm cannons, however, it matches all NATO 105mm and 120mm guns, including low recoil guns and low-weight guns of armoured cars. The LAHAT (Laser Homing Anti-Tank, also a hebrew word for incandescence) is a 3rd generation semi-active laser homing guided low-weight ATGM developed since 1992 and manufactured by IAI (Israel Aerospace Industries).
